The TR3 E Series is packed full of purpose built components. The multiple U.S. patents prove that ABI Equine won’t settle for the status quo, but is always innovating to help you keep your horses sound, performing to their maximum ability and around for a long time!

Stabilizing Wheels

Find the perfect position for general grooming, preparing or renovating

The TR3 E Series frame is stabilized by our U.S. patented stabilizing wheels. Located in the center of the frame, these wheels provide positive depth control to all of the TR3 E Series components. With 3 height adjustments, its easy to find the perfect position for general grooming, preparing or renovating.

All 3-point tractor implements move in the opposite direction of the front tires of the tractor. If the front tires of the tractor go up, the 3-point goes down. This causes most 3-point implements to dig holes and cause waves in horse arenas. This problem is solved with our floatation stabilizing wheels. These wheels prevent the TR3 E Series from undulating with the tractors front tires, keeping the loosening components from going any deeper than they are set and preventing the leveling blade from digging holes. The wheels control the depth of the loosening action, create consistent level travel to eliminate wash boarding and eliminates gouging and stalling of the tractor while pushing backward by supporting the frame. Additionally, these wheels support side-to-side “dipping” while cornering. These wheels are the secret to properly preparing your arena footing.

Profile Blades

Loosen footing without creating ridges

The profile blades are a major differentiator between the TR3 E Series and its competitors. Because of this patented concept, the desire to loosen footing without creating ridges can finally be realized. Similar to a sod cutting blade the profile blades cut parallel to the arena grade. So, instead of ripping through footing with perpendicular teeth these profile blades slice through the footing in quarter inch increments and loosen the footing as deep as seven inches. Now with every single pass of the tractor the TR3 E Series will be loosing 100% of the footing! This saves an enormous amount of time on the tractor because the driver no longer has to make two or three passes over the same footing with different patterns! The profile blade cleans the base of compaction and lifts the footing material to add cushion.

Floating Drag Bar

Move footing from one part of the arena to another

Even though many competitors claim they have a leveling or grading blade, the reality is they don’t. Simply smoothing out hoof prints will never bring an arena back to grade. A tool must have the ability to move dirt from one part of the arena to another to claim it can level an arena. Many drags can smooth, few can actually level. Unlike the competition, the TR3 E Series has a ground-engaging blade capable of moving a significant amount of material if needed. Not only that, it has an industry exclusive patent that enables the TR3 E Series leveling blade to “float”, when desired, to auto level the arena. In the floating position this blade will catch high areas and drop that material into lower areas automatically. If the arena is already level it will not dig holes or create high spots. This means, in an undamaged arena, no skill is required to achieve or maintain a level grade. But the floating position isn’t the only position! The drag bar may also be locked down to act like a box blade for rough grading and spreading material. This enables the TR3 E Series to not only maintain an already level arena in great condition, but also renovate an arena filled with waves and inconsistent footing. The TR3 E Series is the only 3-point tractor tool in the world that can do all this in one tool.

Grooming Rods

Break up slight compaction

Many arena drags on the market today incorporate grooming rods into their design. The problem is, is that they count on these grooming rods as their primary loosening tool. Not with the TR3 E Series! Our grooming rods serve several very important functions.

  1. The first is to give a second loosening action after the drag bar. Anytime you pull a blade with material on it, the footing will tighten up some. So, our grooming rods are positioned behind the blade to break up the slight compaction from the blade. The primary loosening of the arena footing comes from the profile blades or ripping teeth and not our grooming rods.
  2. The second function is to add a little “texture” when wanted right about the base of the arena. In many disciplines, the horse needs a little “grip” right above the base for traction. This helps with barrel racing and jumping specifically. You simply lower the grooming rods below the profile blade and you get the best of both worlds! With the profile blades you get a consistent footing with no compaction clear down to the base and with the grooming rods you get the “grip” desired for some traction.
  3. The last purpose of these grooming rods is to relieve any final compaction from the stabilizing wheels.

These grooming rods are adjustable and can wear 6″ before needing replaced!

Ripping Teeth

Easily penetrate compacted arena footing

The ripping or scarifying teeth loosen the ground to eliminate hard spots and easily penetrate compacted arena footing. The depths of these teeth are controlled by the stabilizing wheels to protect the base of the arena. Many equine disciplines require different footing depths and every footing material is different. The TR3 E Series ripping teeth are adjustable from 0″ – 7″ to enable the perfect amount of aggressiveness and loosening depth. The TR3 E Series is not only limited to the horse arena. If fact, because the teeth are “fixed”, not spring loaded, they make breaking up hardpan soil or gravel a breeze. Many customers use the TR3 E Series on gravel driveways and for light property maintenance.

Because the ripping or scarifying teeth can handle nearly any ground condition from horse arenas to gravel driveways the TR3 E Series teeth have replaceable bolt on tips. This feature not only ensures affordable and easy maintenance, of this wear part, but it also ensures peak ground penetration no matter the ground condition. If the tips wear to the point that performance is diminished, simply replace them and restore the performance to like new! Many competitive drags require the owner to grind off the worn parts and weld on new ones.

Adjustable Finish Rake

Groom material with the perfect amount of flow

The final component of the TR3 E Series is the adjustable finish rake. This rear rake pulverizes and breaks up clumps of material and leaves a beautiful signature finish behind in the arena. By adjusting the rear manual jack, the TR3 E Series’ 1/2″ thick hardened-steel-rake, can pivot into into a variety of finishing and grading positions. This adjustability enables the rake to pulverize clods of material, level and finish no matter the material consistency. This functionality enables the TR3 E Series to beautifully groom material with the perfect amount of flow. Outside of the arena it can work on grading and resealing gravel driveways and even break-up manure lying on the pasture. The rake is replaceable in one-foot sections to reduce maintenance costs.

Rail Blade

Eliminate hours of back breaking work

The optional TR3 E-Series rail blade eliminates footing material buildup along the rail of a horse arena. This option saves hours of labor by eliminating the need to manually rake out, tractor accessible, arena edges. The breakaway shear bolt, edge wheel, and edge marker stake pocket all contribute to assist the operator with damage free operation near wood fences, walls, and rails. (Driveway Marker Stake not included, available at local hardware)

| Julieann LeeBest of the best. This tr3e is soo much better then u though it would be. The ease of getting it off the delivery truck & in arena was about 30 min. ItÕs amazing !! Women friendly ! And easy to work with.
| H AlmanzaGreat Product - Superb Customer Service. TR3 was delivered today and WOW! With the TR3, we were able to do in 20 minutes what usually takes 2-hours and three separate attachments. I'll admit, we were a bit wary of the price, but it is worth every penny. Thank you for walking through the process with us, answering our questions, and ensuring we bought the correct sized attachment. Looking forward to future ABI purchases.
| William Ellegood and Lynn BilleterEllegoodTR3 E-series is Amazing! The versatility and quality of this arena drag is amazing! Special thank you to our sales rep Brian
| John DillonWhat a great design. Needed a drag for our indoor arena and this exceeds our expectations. Nate was great to deal with and will buy from them again when equipment is needed.
| DJ MaierGreat tool it's like 5 in one
| Deann and Greg FreyAmazing equipment. We built our arena ourselves last year and bought the TR3 to help with that. We are so impressed with this amazing piece of equipment. I had hopes that it would help make the spot we chose into a reasonable arena. It has far surpassed my expectations. It looks and functions like a professional arena. IÕm completely confident riding my expensive horses in there without reservation. I consider my ABI a partner in my riding program now. Highly recommended.
| BruceGreat Arena Drag. After 10 years of using various other drags/harrows we got a TR3 E series. WeÕve had it for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. My wife says after conditioning the arena itÕs like butter cream frosting. WouldnÕt be without one now that weÕve been spoiled. Works great, easy to adjust, built to last.
| SusieGreat addition to farm equipment. I am very happy with my TR3E. I could not imagine life without it anymore. We purchase about 6 month ago and once we go it set up and dialed in for our footing, it's brilliant. We have 2 riding rings and high traffic use with jumping everyday. It has saved a lot of time and diesel by doing a great job on the first pass. Levels ring. No more puddles. I would recommend to anyone.
| Kay PiediscalziI am very pleased with my TR3 E-Series. My arena ground is so much better using this equipment. I am able to get more done with my horses by having better ground.
| JodiThis drag is everything! Although for our private farm, we wanted a way to properly maintain our new large (240X180) bluestone/sand/shell mix arena. It really does the job and THEN some! One of our biggest issues with the new arena is the 50 plus year old tress that line the arena. They completely shade the arena in the summer which is invaluable to us. But in the fall, they pose a MAJOR problem. With the aid of a large Ohio leaf sweep and this TR3 we are able to put the blade down and churn what is left over in to the sand and it biodegrades. It is a lifesaver! Although maybe to big for most people, this TR3 E was JUST what our farm needed! I canÕt recomm it enough! Worth the money!
| Sally LukeAmazing . Revitalized and repaired our tired footing we are so happy
| Charles FinleyWhat a great arena drag. I had a 4 in 1 reveal for 15 years and there is no comparison. I have been in the horse industry for over 45 years and the TR3 E is by far the best machine I have ever used.
| Daniel McNallyFirst time buying. Got this 1 year used from a neighbor that passed away. Years ahead of what I was using, but was a little upset to find that ABI charged me for a replacement part that isn't supposed to break (I dont know why they should care who bought it from them...mfr warranty should apply to the machine, not who's using it). Can be a little hard to keep up with how to set it consistently..but a great job it does do.
| Marcel TouzinWe have had the TR3 E series for about a year. My wife rides and enjoys the sport of Dressage and is a perfectionist. I drive the tractor. I love this tool. It provides me the exact footing my wife needs and does it easily. As an aside. It is perfect to maintain our gravel driveway... In Florida. Thanks
