Everyone Matt Metzger here with ABI Attachments, welcome back to another episode of ABI Dirt. We’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now. And for those of you who have stuck with us from the beginning, thank you so much. Love having you on board. I also really appreciate all the questions and feedback we’re getting online. Remember, that’s why we’re doing this. We want to provide you some information that will hopefully help you get your work done. Now, sometimes that information is technical rundown of one of our products. Right? Some of it, like the one today, is going to be taking a look behind the curtain. Who is ABI? Why do we do what we do? What is some history and why does it matter to you? So today’s episode, we’re actually going to tackle a question we get really often, and that is what does ABI stand for? So it’s going to be a little bit of a history lesson, kind of like Grandpa Matt sit on the front porch with an iced tea. You know what I mean? So stick with me just a couple minutes here. I want to give you a snapshot of what does ABI stand for?

So, brief history. Kevin Keigley owned a lawn installation and landscape company when Scott Holmes began to work with him. Kevin was the son of a sod farmer, knew everything there was no about seedbed. Scott Holmes was a pastor’s kid. Loved talking to people and getting to know the stories. Scott quickly realized that Kevin’s crews were able to finish up projects and get things ready for the customer way faster than anybody else around them. Scott, being naturally inquisitive, wants to know how Kevin’s crews were getting the work done so quickly. Kevin pointed out the TR3. Turns out Kevin was looking for a better way to get work done, looked down the market for some attachments that he could use, couldn’t find anything that fit what he was needing, so he invented his own. That’s the TR3. As they began to talk, the advantages of the TR3 what they’re able to accomplish, they got to thinking; if this product is able to help Kevin and his crews, what can it do for everyone else trying to get that outdoor work done?

Scott and Kevin put their heads together, realized they’ve had a really innovative product on their hands and decided to start making them for everyone else to get value. And that’s the story. No Shark Tank experience, no major capital investment, just two guys who knew they had an innovative products and wanted to provide that to everyone else to help other people’s lives get better. When Kevin Scott started their company to provide TR3s to the world, they called it Absolute Innovations because they wanted to constantly be absolutely innovating, whatever the were touching. They didn’t want to make other commodity products. They didn’t want to try to make a new rear blade or a new box blade. They wanted to provide all of you with something genuinely different. And even though we’ve changed our name over to ABI Attachments and even though we’ve kind of dropped that buzzword of innovation, innovation and providing quality products is still at the heart of what we do. We don’t imitate. We innovate.

So that’s kind of that front porch iced tea history of ABI Attachments where that ABI came from. What I love about all of you is that you’ve got some really creative names of your own. When I was sitting in the customer service seat for years and working on those parts orders and getting your manure spreaders back up and running, realized you all have some really creative names for your properties, your companies, your ranch’s as well. I would love to hear from all of you now that you know a little bit of our history. I’d love to know your story as well. Please, in the comments below, give me the name of your company or your ranch and tell me how you came up with it, because I know you all have some great stories and great histories as well. We’d love to hear them and we’d love to share. [00:03:33] That’s all I’ve got for today everyone. If it’s been a while since you’ve been over to our website to check out some of the innovative attachments I’m referring to. Click the link in the description below. We’d love to show you what’s there. There’s always new stuff we’re coming out with it. Go check it out. Until next time. Take care.
